This fully restored 1977 Lemans was built by friends of YearOne, C&S Performance in Butler, WI, to closely replicate Sheriff Buford T Justice's police car from Smokey and The Bandit. Adam Harder and Clint Clausing started this project with a 16,000 mile rust free Lemans from Texas (a very fitting location). After completely stripping and repainting the car, the two boys decided to give the old Lemans a little extra juice with a 495ci Pontiac motor. If you pay close attention to the below video you can see the 495ci emissions decal Adam had made for the car, a very nice touch. Tracking down an accurate functioning light bar was no easy task either. After a considerable amount of effort they were able to piece together an n.o.s. bar, used chain drive, lights, and domes. Adam also happens to own an original Bandit Trans Am. The two cars made an attention grabbing pair at this year’s Power Tour.

Very Nice Guys, :) Hope to get my formula in better shape soon.
ReplyDeleteYou guys are so lucky to own a piece of movie history. I too own the lightbar which was very difficult to track down. I have found many 2 door Lemans on the net but I'm having trouble locating a 4 door. Unfortunately it looks like I'll never own one. It's my dream to also restore a Buford Lemans car. Wishful thinking I guess.
ReplyDeleteThat's great!. Very creative and strategic minds. Your strategies could used in reviving used Gilmer ford
